Our year end results!!!

Hi Guys:

Well, a few days ago, we took all the stuff that everyone dropped this past season at Koehler Family Christmas on behalf of the Food Bank Of CNY. The results, needless to say, were spectacular.

***680 POUNDS OF NON-PERISHABLE FOOD AND PANTRY ITEMS***

***$263 CASH DONATIONS FOR THE FOOD BANK!!!

I am absolutely AMAZED by the outpouring of support and generosity for this worthwhile cause!!

We have a few people that we need to thank:

WSYR CHANNEL 9 SYRACUSE

THE SYRACUSE NEWSPAPERS, AND JAMES MULDER

THE EAGLE BULLETIN

93Q, AND THE TED AND AMY SHOW

christmaslightfinder.com

My beautiful bride, Mrs. Jean Koehler

Ms. Teresa Marcely Neider

Everybody that Retweeted and Forwarded our info

AND, OF COURSE, THE FOOD BANK OF CENTRAL NEW YORK, AND MS. LYNN HY.

If I missed anyone, it wasn’t on purpose, please let me know and we’ll add you in.

We obviously won’t be posting as regularly as we have been, but look for updates throughout the year as we grow our display. There are BIG BIG BIG plans in the works, as the display will be a “mere shadow of it’s former self”. Plans are already being made, measurements taken, and lights are on order (yes, you really do have to start NOW.)

And, we will be having a HALLOWEEN display, so stay tuned for more info about that.

Once again, thank you to everybody for their support this year, have a great summer and we’ll see you soon!!

If you haven’t already, please subscribe to our webpage, and like our Facebook page.

Thank you!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hi, Kids!!!

Well, it seems that the New Year is virtually upon us!!

Despite pleadings from just about everyone, it seems as though someone we know is always affected by nonsense of some sort on New Year’s Eve. Please don’t let yourself or someone you know become a statistic. Call AAA if you need to, they are offering free rides tonight for anyone that needs it, whether you are a member or not. Please…life is too short and precious. Don’t put yourself in a potentially fatal situation.

Now….as you all know, the Holiday Season is winding down. Our FINAL SHOW will be this coming Friday, January 4. I know that we had earlier said that the 5th would be our last night, but a scheduling snafu will prevent that. I guess I should’ve taken off my socks and shoes to count,  but I didn’t, and for that I apologize. So….

ALL THREE SHOWS ON OUR FINAL NIGHT…..TSONLY!!!

That’s right, extended shows at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 on Friday, January 4 will all feature the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s hits of the season!!! Bring your lighters, face paint, and any other accouterments you want, camp out, rock out, and enjoy our last show. It’s a heartfelt THANKS to all who have made this season at Koehler Family Christmas something special.

Don’t forget, when you come, please bring some non-perishable food items that you can donate to our area’s hungry and needy.

Again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT THIS YEAR. See you all Friday night, and

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

KOEHLER FAMILY CHRISTMAS

PS: The lights will be in a “static” display for the rest of the week, and we will be playing your favorite Christmas tunes on 90.7 MHz FM, if you’re inclined to drive by.

TONIGHT!!!

So….as of right now, most stuff is working. We will have shows again starting tonight at 6:30, then 7:30 and 8:30. Keep your fingers crossed that everything stays operational. There’s a lot of wind and snow out there. Also, I don’t anticipate that anyone will be standing outside tonight, with the wind chills in the single digits anticipated later today. I’m going to leave the sound system inside tonight and to hear the music, just tune your radio to 90.7 MHz FM, stay in your car and be toasty warm!!

Also, if you’re watching tonight and a plow happens to try to come down the street, make your way to the nearest driveway till the plow goes by, then park back on the street again.

Thank you for your patience over the last few days, and Thank You for your continued support of the Food Bank of Central New York!!

KOEHLER FAMILY CHRISTMAS

No lights tonight, UGH

Hello everyone…

Got some stuff dug out today. Found out what a weakling my shovel was. In any event, somehow some snow worked its way into 3 of 6 controllers, and I’m not able to get them dried out for a while. I will go ahead and say that they will be dried out tomorrow for shows at the regular time, 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30. Sorry about that, but we have to play it safe and not wreck the gear.

Thank you for your understanding. See you all tomorrow night.

KOEHLER FAMILY CHRISTMAS

TONIGHT!!!

Hi Guys and Gals:

Well….after that DOOOZEY of a storm, almost 16 inches fell here at KOEHLER FAMILY CHRISTMAS.

Most of our power and data connections are under snow. Obviously, we won’t be running lights tonight, and tomorrow is up in the air at this point.

We will keep everyone in the loop and let you know what happens and the progress we make as we dig out all our “stuff”.

Have a great Thursday!!!

KOEHLER FAMILY CHRISTMAS

Tonight, Wednesday, December 26

Due to the impending storm that is coming, the lights and music will be off tonight. If the forecast pans out, it sounds as though people shouldn’t be out on the roads after it starts snowing. Snowfall rates of up to 3″ per HOUR!!! GOOD GRIEF!!!

Stay home and snuggle!!! We’ll try again tomorrow, but we’ll make an announcement before dark Thursday.

Stay safe out there!!!

KOEHLER FAMILY CHRISTMAS

A very humbling evening. Thank you, everyone!!!

Hello everyone:

Well….I hardly know what to say. What a great night. First of all, everything worked, which is stellar. Secondly, the outpouring of support from the community tonight was amazing. Kids were everywhere. Candy was everywhere. Donations for the Food Bank of CNY were EVERYWHERE. It really was a great night.

Santa Claus has just left, I had to turn the lights on for a minute or two so he could make it over the trees of the neighbors’ yards. He asked me to tell everyone that he had a great break from driving the sleigh, the reindeer got some hay and water (Donder and Blitzen made my back yard a bit messy, but I can clean that up tomorrow) and unfortunately he had to leave rather abruptly…he’s in Spain now as we speak. He made up for lost time rather well.

We are taking a couple of days off to enjoy the Holiday before some of our family leave for a while. Thank you again, and all of us here wish all of you the Merriest of Christmases. The lights will all be on, not animated, but will be on if you want to drive by, weather permitting. You can also listen to some music on 90.7 MHz if you are in the immediate area.

Our next show will be this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 28, 29, and 30th, at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30. Our final weekend will be Friday and Saturday, January 4 and 5, at the above times. One of those nights will be an ENCORE TSOnly Night, so bring your lighters!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

KOEHLER FAMILY CHRISTMAS

PS: I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank Newschannel 9, WSYR TV for their running of our interview again tonight. Thanks so much!!!

Fanfreakintastic!!!

Hi Everyone:

Boy, what a great night tonight has been!!! They were parked on both sides of the street and also along Schuyler Road. Singing!! Dancing!!! Lots of donations also, great for our effort for the Food Bank of CNY!!!

Well, as you know, all of our efforts have led us to tomorrow night, Christmas Eve!!!
Our program starts at 7 PM, lasts approximately 45-50 minutes, and I’m told by people “in the know” that Santa will be touching down right before the end of the program. (Don’t ask me how many STRINGS I HAD TO PULL, please??!!)

A couple of requests:

Please park on one side of the street, if you can. I can help you find a place to park, just be patient, please. Feel free to park on Schuyler and walk the short walk over. Don’t worry, we won’t start without you.

Let our neighbors through. They already put up with a lot from me the other 11 months out of the year, so please be courteous.

Please don’t litter.

If people are still coming, we may delay the start for 5 minutes or so, but we’ll get underway as soon as we can.

Don’t make fun of Santa. He’s rather large. He knows it. Don’t hurt his feelings and make him cry.

So……with those things in mind, get some sleep, rest up, and we will see you tomorrow night at 7 PM. Please don’t forget your donation for the CNY Food Bank. Help us help CNY’s needy!!!

Thank you, and to all, A GOOD NIGHT!!!!

KOEHLER FAMILY CHRISTMAS

Well, despite a windy, raw wintry night….

Well, despite a windy, raw wintry night, with only a few weather-related technical glitches, KOEHLER FAMILY CHRISTMAS rocks again!!!

Great turn out for our TSOnly night, with temps in the 20s and wind chills in the teens. Once again, people helping out the Central New York Food Bank. If you missed it, never fear, we will have another one before our last night.

Don’t forget, our last regularly scheduled shows for the weekend are tomorrow, at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30.

Then, Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24, is our HUGE (I hope Mr. Fuccillo doesn’t get mad at me…) CHRISTMAS EVE EXTRAVAGANZA!!! Music and lights start at 7 PM, ends close to 8 PM, and that’s when the BIG MAN HIMSELF makes his grand entrance. Goodies and candy for everyone in attendance. All of this, of course, depends on the weather, so please, if the weather is questionable, check here for cancellation notices.

Thank you once again, and to ALL A GOOD NIGHT!!!
