Our 2014 Season Is Right Around The Corner!!!

Good evening, peeps. Hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend. Too bad the lweekend wasn’t 3 more days longer…….

Here’s the deal for our upcoming 2014 season.

We will not be opening up on Black Friday as we have in the past. We’re taking the Thanksgiving holiday weekend OFF!! We will, however, be up and running in a “static” format on Monday, December 1, and tweaking all week. So if you want to stop or drive by, listen to some Christmas music and take a peek, feel free.

We will be having our traditional “sneek peek” on Halloween. Stop by, get some sweet snacks, listen to some Halloween music and don’t forget to bring your SUNGLASSES!! Fun starts at 5pm and ends at 7:30pm.

Our official OPENING NIGHT will be Friday, December 5, at 6 pm. As in the past, shows will be at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm, and last 20-25 minutes. As before, you can stay in your car and listen on 90.7 FM or get out and listen on our sound system.

We have retooled a lot of our display…I think you’ll be amazed at what you find when you get here.

As in the past, we will be accepting non-perishable food items in addition to monetary or check donations on behalf of the Food Bank of Central New York.

Please see our website, koehlerfamilychristmas.com for directions, special tidbits, videos, and progress reports on how the setup process is coming along. Also, our Twitter feed will be running again soon, Koehlerfamxmas. Like us here on FB, subscribe to our blog and follow us on Twitter for up to the minute schedule changes, weather cancellations and updates.

Thank you very much for your interest, support and help in making 2014 the best year EVER here at Koehler Family Christmas.

Hello, folks. Happy New Year!!!

Well, we went to the Food Bank of Central New York yesterday to drop off our “booty” to them.

The news is pretty cool. We ended up with 955 lbs of food for them, and $715.10 in cash and checks.

I don’t know what to say. The generosity of all of our friends and visitors is overwhelming. Somehow, to say THANK YOU is woefully inadequate.

We need to say THANK YOU to a number of people. The folks at WSYR Channel 9…Andrew Andrew Donovan (one of our most ardent supporters) Rachel Polansky…Carrie Lazarus..Tim Fox….the Photojournalists from Channel 9 (Bill? I could be wrong, sorry!)

The people at YNN, Time Warner Cable. Here multiple times under difficult circumstances. Iris St. Meran, for one. I know I forgot a couple of you, sorry.

Kathy Rowe at Y94FM….thanks so much!!!

Anthony Marrone, wife Melissa, and Vera House of CNY…another great supporter. Thank You!!

Teresa Marcely Neider….what would we do without you!!

The guys at Crouse….Bob Allen. Cheryl Abrams. Thanks for the publicity!!

I’m sure I forgot several people and organizations…I’m sorry, but post-call Jeff strikes again. I can’t thank you enough for the support that everyone has given us over the past few years. Without everyone’s support, we would not be able to do what we do.

And to my wife, Jean Koehler, and children, who essentially were without their husband and father for almost 3 months, thank you for your support and help. the bummer is that you get me back now!!

To everyone, from Koehler Family Christmas, please have a safe, happy peaceful New Year, and may it be happier and healthier than 2013!!

Hello, folks.

Well, another season of lights and music has come and gone.

We won’t have an exact count till later in the week, but I do know we beat last season’s totals by far and away. Our last night, which is a Sunday, saw us far busier than we’ve been traditionally.

I’m very, very proud of the work that we’ve done, and the success that we’ve had this year. But, it’s not just the lights, or the music that do it. There are many, many people and organizations that have helped us along the way, all year long. We’ll announce how we did and try to say thank you to everyone in a few days, after we get with the food bank and get our results.

We did have some technical issues, which will be resolved next year, if we do decide that we will continue on. But, all in all, we’re pretty pleased with the show that we put together and the way it went.

Again, our first THANK YOU for everything that everyone has done for us throughout 2013. Best wishes to everyone for a happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year. We’ll have more info in a few days.

Hello, everyone.

Well, the big day has finally come. Santa’s big day. Leaving for work this morning, I was outside cleaning off my car, and the lights were off. It was incredibly quiet, and it was flurrying just a little bit. I was imagining what it would be like in 12 hours….lights on, snowing just a bit, happy children running around.

Everything is ready….almost. The last minute details are being tended to in the workshop.

We’ll have the lights up at 7 PM. It’ll be a longer than usual show, 40-45 minutes, and Santa and his elves will arrive towards the end of the show with goodies for everyone.

This is what it’s all about….quiet, peace, music and lights.

Try to get here early….and once again, thank you so much for all you’ve done to support Koehler Family Christmas and the Food Bank of Central New York.

Holy Mackerel!!! What a great crowd tonight. I think it was a new world record. Thanks so much for coming out, everyone. The weather was nice and warm, lots of cars, lots of kids, lots of everything. We did a great job for the Food Bank of Central New York tonight, with your help.

Next up…….our FANTASMAGORICAL CHRISTMAS EVE SHOW!! An extra long light show, starting at 7 PM. Fun, candy for everyone, and surprises for the kids, culminating in a visit, direct from the North Pole, of SANTA CLAUS!!! You should really try and make this one….

Thanks one and all, for your continued support of Koehler Family Christmas and the Food Bank of CNY!!

Hello, Everyone!!

First thing, we’re dark tonight.

Secondly, our first TSO Night went well, except for a couple of software issues that were ironed out before the last show. Our apologies to everyone, but it was a pretty sreious software issue that we got fixed. Thank you to everyone for their patience, but I think we ultimately put on a great show. Thank you again for all of your support, both for us and the Food Bank of CNY.

We’re back Sunday, weather permitting, with shows at the regular times of 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 PM.

The next big event is our Christmas Eve show, at 7 PM. It will run a bit longer than our usual shows, with Santa arriving with goodies for all in attendance at 7:40 PM. It promises to be a DOOOOZIE!!

The following Saturday, December 28, will be our last TSO Show, showing for all three shows at the usual times. Our final night of the 2013 season will be Sunday night, December 29, with three shows. Please note that we will be dark on Friday, December 27.

Here’s some video shot a few days ago by Syracuse.com videographer Mike Greenlaw. Thaniks, Mike!!

Another Great Week!!

We start our last show of the week in 30″, but just to remind everyone, our TSO Shows commence next Friday, December 20, at 6:30. And don’t forget, we’re dark next Saturday, December 21. We’ll have a regular schedule of shows a week from today, December 22, then our CHRISTMAS EVE EXTRAVAGANZA at 7 PM Tuesday, December 24!!

Sincere thanks to those who came tonight, and to those who persevered with us Friday night and last night. We made it through to see another day.

Thasnk you again to everyone who supports what we do, and supports the Food Bank of Central New York.

Have a great week, stay warm, and see you Friday!!

Sunday, December 15

Happy Sunday, Peeps!! To everybody who persevered right along with us last night, under difficult conditions, THANK YOU!! We’ll be back at it again tonight, usual times, 6:30, 7:30, 8:30. It’ll be a little warmer, so we will put out the sound system. You may find yourself in a video tonight too!!

Tonight, December 14

Well, we’re gonna give it the old college try this evening, despite the winter storm warning. I am not going to put the sound system out tonight…I’m betting that there won’t be many of you outside dancing in the streets tonight!! As always, you can listen in your nicely heated cars to our musical portion, on 90.7 mHz FM. We’ll come and give out the candy to everyone. DRIVE SAFELY!!!
