HOLY COW!!! I’m speechless. And that takes a lot.

What a great weekend here at KFC. Lots of cars, kids dancing in the street, some adults, too. I think a great time was had by all. It was great to see some old friends, and we made some new ones as well. And most importantly, we had a great turnout for the Food Bank of Central New York.

We’ll have a new show all ready for you guys next weekend, a new mix of some old standards and new favorites.

We’ll have the static display up and running TUESDAY night, December 3 through Thursday, December 5, then it’s right back to work on Friday, December 6, for three shows starting at the usual times. DON’T FORGET, WE’LL BE DARK ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7.

Thanks again for your support of our efforts, and have a great week. See you all next weekend!!

And, BTW, to the couple from MINOA that stopped by with 5 bags of canned goods, (you know who you are, but I don’t) THANK YOU for your very generous contribution!! Come back again, I owe you more candy!!!

Koehler Family Christmas

Hello, Peeps.

Well guys, it’s T minus 48 hours and counting until the huge Opening Night Extravaganza. There’ll be music for everyone…some Transsiberian Orchestra, some Christmas Classics, and new favorites. This is going to be the best year yet for Koehler Family Christmas.

We’ve already dropped 80 lbs of food items to the Food Bank of CNY today, courtesy of Jeanine and ESM. So, we’ve already gotten 10% of what we got last year. So we are already in good shape.

So…we’ll be starting the festivities at 6:30 Friday night, and have shows at 7:30 and 8:30 as well.

We had mentioned on FB and Twitter that there will have to be a couple of dark nights in December due to my work commitments. We’ll announce that on Monday. We’ll also have a couple of TSOnly nights, which are always a crowd favorite.

A reminder…please check our website here, our Twitter feed (Koehler Fam Xmas) and like our FB page. You’ll get weather updates, news and cool classic Christmas pictures. Remember, we don’t run the show in crummy wet weather, for safety concerns.

We will be running a static display (it will be on, just not animated with music) and we’ll be broadcasting HOLIDAY AMERICA RADIO on 90.7 nightly till 11:00 PM until light up. If the weather is uncooperative, we’ll shut down, but we’ll let you know through the usual outlets.

Oh, one more thing……BRING YOUR SUNGLASSES!!!

Some News!!!

Hi everyone. So, Halloween has come and gone, but you can see how well we did by watching Andrew Donovan’s crack reporting from WSYR, Channel 9 here in Syracuse. He and his photojournalist were here in the pouring rain for almost 2 hours compiling this story about our light show. They’ll be back soon, before the “big opening” on Black Friday to do a follow up and talk about our work on behalf of the Food Bank Of Central New York.

You can watch the story here:

In other news, the Halloween Sneek Peek went well. We had Halloween music synchronized to our light show, gave out lots of candy (snuk some for ourselves, too, tee hee) and worked out a few kinks with the display.

We also got our Twitter feed up and running. You can follow us @Koehlerfamxmas where you’ll get up to the minute news, events, special notices, and cancellations due to weather. Follow us, and tell your friends, please!!

We will be working hard over the next 24 days to get our “act together” for our Extravaganza on Black Friday, November 29. We’ll also have other events out in the community, which we will fill you in on when details are finalized. One thing that we can tell you, though, is that we’ll be having 2 TSOnly nights this year, one early on, and one towards the end of the season. So, you rockin’ Transsiberian Orchestra fans, bring your friends to our TWO TSOnly nights. Dates will be announced soon!!

As always, THANK YOU to those that have helped us along the way. We’ll be sure to bring you the BEST SHOW all season long!!

Hello, again, Christmas fans!!!

Well, here we are, just a few short weeks until the BIG DAY!!!

We are busy little elves here at KOEHLER FAMILY CHRISTMAS, getting all our lights, software, and elements ready and working for the display. We are retooling virtually the ENTIRE display, adding several elements with both RGB and pixel components. We’ll have more on that later on in a seperate post, but I GUARANTEE you, you will not be disappointed. It truly will be spectacular.

We’ll have a SNEAK preview on Halloween Night, October 31, with a short show with some favorite Halloween songs. The show will be about 12-15 minutes long, and will run continuously from 6 PM to about 8 PM. We’ll be here to dish out candy and fliers with info to our Christmas Season of shows.

Of course, this is all the BIG BUILD UP for the SEASON PREMIERE of our Christmas Extravaganza on Black Friday, November 29, and the Show Opening on Friday, December 6, weather permitting, of course, with our traditional performance of three nightly shows at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 PM.

Like us on Facebook, Koehler Family Christmas, and subscribe to our website, koehlerfamilychristmas.com, so that you get live, instant updates about our progress going forward as we move towards the “big day” as well as live weather updates and cancellations.

Thanks!!! See you all soon!!!

Hello, again!!!

Hello, everyone!!

It’s now less than 100 days to Christmas, 2013!! We’ve been busy getting our “act together” and getting the display up to par. We are adding new elements, and if you recall, last year, we had a problem with some of ther lights that we received from China. Well, we, and our vendors, have been working overtime to get the best “pixels” that we can so that we can get back to where we wanted to be. Most  of our elements will be LED at the very least, and we will have many elements with “pixels”, which means that all the individual bulbs will be able to be controlled individually. More on that later.

We will be having a “sneak preview” on Halloween, not a specific Halloween show, per se, and that show will run continuously starting at 7 PM.

Stay tuned for more info, and get PUMPED, Santa will be here SOON!!!

Our year end results!!!

Hi Guys:

Well, a few days ago, we took all the stuff that everyone dropped this past season at Koehler Family Christmas on behalf of the Food Bank Of CNY. The results, needless to say, were spectacular.

I am absolutely AMAZED by the outpouring of support and generosity for this worthwhile cause!!

We have a few people that we need to thank:

My beautiful bride, Mrs. Jean Koehler

Ms. Teresa Marcely Neider

Everybody that Retweeted and Forwarded our info

If I missed anyone, it wasn’t on purpose, please let me know and we’ll add you in.

We obviously won’t be posting as regularly as we have been, but look for updates throughout the year as we grow our display. There are BIG BIG BIG plans in the works, as the display will be a “mere shadow of it’s former self”. Plans are already being made, measurements taken, and lights are on order (yes, you really do have to start NOW.)

And, we will be having a HALLOWEEN display, so stay tuned for more info about that.

Once again, thank you to everybody for their support this year, have a great summer and we’ll see you soon!!

If you haven’t already, please subscribe to our webpage, and like our Facebook page.

Thank you!!!
